September & October prayer letter 2024

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”.

~ Matthew 28:18

Dear pastors and prayer partners:

Peace be with you in the Lord!

In 1974, Norwegian Lutheran Mission sent missionaries to Taiwan and established Voice of Salvation in the hope that the gospel work to China would not stop due to political reasons. Over the past fifty years, Voice of Salvation has been guided by God’s grace to reach the Chinese around the world through multimedia platforms.

Thank God that this year is our 50th anniversary. The celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, October 19th, at 10 a.m. in Lutheran Spiritual Light Church (Address: 1F, No. 277, Section 2, He-ping East Road, Taipei). We sincerely invite all of you to join us to count the Lord’s blessings and rejoice in His love together.

Looking back on this long journey of grace, our hearts have been filled with gratefulness. In the past 50 years, God has not only granted us recognition and encouragement through countless letters, emails, text messages, and messages,….etc. from listeners around the world, moreover, but also we see that every listener was chosen by God’s grace, just as the vision and mission entrusted by God to us: “Let all the Chinese around the world hear God’s voice of salvation.”

Let me share a recent testimony. Two weeks ago, Emily, a Chinese sister living in US went online and found our website. She left a message to ask for help. She hopes that her child can listen to the Chinese version of the Bible and some children’s Bible stories. We provided the links of our programs right away and later got an email from Emily to thank us. Now her 10-year-old son listens to our Children's Bible Stories each night...

Thank God that we have clearly seen that, quite often, the Internet technologies such as AI have been spreading falsehood and lies in people’s life and thoughts. As a result, truth and honesty seemed to be getting farther and farther away from people. However, these technologies cannot bring people real freedom and happiness. What people really need is the Lord.

Thank God for entrusting us with the responsibility of sharing the gospel. Jesus said, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations..."

Dear pastors, brothers and sisters, let us continue marching forward on the path of grace ahead of us and preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus till the day He comes.

[Letters/Messages from Listeners]

From China ... Hello, Sister Duo Duo! Ever since I started listening to your program, I haven’t missed a day. Whenever I feel uncomfortable, depressed, irritated and filthy inside, it was gone as soon as I listen to your program. It’s all like a daily devotional when I listen to your program. I really like Duo Duo's voice, so tender and contagious. Thank you very much!

From China ... I have been listening to the "Popcorn" program for nearly 5 years, and it was quite reluctant for me to accept the sudden departure of the hostess.

There is no such thing as a banquet that lasts forever, but here I wish Sister Rainbow can perform better and better in the future...

From China ...Hello, Sister Rainbow, I am over seven years old and in the first grade of elementary school. I have been listening to “Popcorn” for over two years. Not sure if it’s the technical issues from my mom’s hand phone, I failed to listen to your program for over 10 days. I’m so happy that it is resumed now that I can listen to it again...

From China ...Thank you for providing such a good program titled "Our Time". After listening to it, I felt very emotional in realizing that I encountered you too late. It would have been better to listen to this program much earlier. Thank God for leading me as it’s His love to have brought me from darkness into light.

From Taiwan ... I am a third-grade student in the elementary school. I have been listening to "Little Brother Pi and cute Auntie Miao" for five years. I am so thankful that this program has accompanied me each night that I can listen to some interesting stories before falling asleep. Hope there will be more stories to come.. Thanks for providing this program that accompanies me to sleep peacefully each night...

Listeners from Taiwan... I graduated from Baptist Theological Seminary and am currently serving as a full-time preacher in the Navigation Church, leading a student fellowship in the university.. I searched for English learning resources online and found your English programs on YouTube. The content is very good, but a bit too difficult for me. I want to ask if there is any English programs for beginners?…

[Feedback from Bible Correspondence Students]

Student Zhuang... There is still no further news about my parole application. I went from being cheerful to unsettling. I can only tell myself to wait on God, and pray for God’s mercy..

Student Liu... From basic to intermediate level, through Bible correspondence courses, I have been able to think about God’s words more meticulously, pondering over and over on scriptures, and come up with different answers and new reflections. Jesus who turned human history around is a name familiar to Christians. However, after I believed in the Lord, I started to read the Bible but didn’t seem to have adequate knowledge or understanding of Christ. I thank God for re-starting His work in me through the intermediate course. His love and guidance have brought me closer to Jesus, the only begotten Son of God.
