Congratulations to Voice of Salvation, leaders, staff, and the church that is behind this wonderful media ministry. It is really a joy to be here today to take part in the 50-years celebration!

In 1975 Pastor Brudeli came back to Norway, from Taiwan, and talked about the plan to set up a new radio studio in Taipei – to broadcast the message of salvation. – Well, it became a calling to me and my wife. We spent some time in preparation for this assignment, butI see that God has been leading me and my family through the years in Taiwan and later..

 

In the beginning we used to call it a radio-work, or broadcasting ministry, but it has developed during the years into making use of new ways of communicating the gospel.

I am very glad to see that through the years, Voice of Salvation has really been what the name says! Really focusing on the most important message – the salvation of Jesus Christ, by grace alone! And that this message is communicated to the Chinese people.

 

We know that the people are listening to the programs.

I am thinking back to the time I started in 1979. Gospel radio programs had been broadcasted to mainland China for some time, but little was known about the reception. How many people were actually listening, what was the impact? Then suddenly information and responding letters came from listeners who told how much the radio broadcast had meant to them, and their way to salvation!

– The work of VOS has a special place in the great work of forwarding the gospel, a commission that is not filled by other means.

 

It has been a blessing to work with many great persons in VOS, who became friends for life. I have been back to Taiwan several times during the years after we ended our resident service here in 1992. It is always a special feeling coming back, to meet with coworkers and friends, and see that the work is carried on. May God bless the work that is going on!

這真是神的祝福，沒想到50周年了！恭喜救恩之聲主任、工作人員還有眾教會，支持這樣的一個服事，我們很感動！所以今天，我很高興來到這裡參加50周年的整個過程，救恩之聲剛開始的那時候，我沒有想到今天會參加這樣子的一個聚會。

 

我記得1975年，畢立德牧師剛從台灣回到挪威，我在挪威奧斯陸跟他見面，他說：「台北開始做福音廣播幾年，然後對這個很有負擔，而且有計畫做新的錄音室在台北，可是需要多一些人」，所以這個很感動我，神呼召我們大家來服事祂，我當宣教士的計畫原本不是要去台北，但那個時候因著感動就改成去台北，到台北後就在救恩之聲工作。我跟我妻子一起覺得那個是神的帶領，很高興看到這些年來救恩之聲確實傳出最重要的信息，就是耶穌基督的救恩！

 

唯獨靠著恩典，並將這些信息傳出給各處的中國人民！我知道人們正在收聽這些廣播的節目，所以我回想到1979年我剛來的時候，福音廣播節目在中國播出了一段時間，可是不知道效果怎麼樣？有多少聽眾？效果如何呢？然後剛好那一年，突然就有信息出來，中國真的有滿多聽眾，這些福音節目真的對他們的信仰很重要，而且得救的路很多都是藉著廣播，所以救恩之聲的工作在傳福音的偉大工作中，我想有特殊的一個地位，這是其他方式無法完成的一個使命。

 

我在救恩之聲有許多很棒的人一起工作，這是很大的祝福，他們成為我們終生的朋友，我每次來到這裡，拜訪同事們，以及跟我以前在教會的弟兄姊妹們一起都很開心。

 

願神祝福保守救恩之聲進行的工作，榮耀歸給神！
